ABSTRACT

Since the current outbreak of COVID-19, in two years, it is necessary to comprehensively review and sort out the logical approach, value dependence and technical path of big data empowered epidemic governance and strengthen the systematic and comprehensive research on big data empowered epidemic control. ABSTRACT

Chinese tourists have essential economic and cultural exchange values for Thai tourism. The present research on Chinese tourists traveling to Thailand (CTTT) has made a significant breakthrough, but it rarely observes the research status quo, hot spots, and the future based on bibliometric methods and visualization technology. Based on 710 articles on the Web of Science (WoS), Cite Space visualization technology was used to analyze the publishing trend of CTTT, authors, institutions, countries, keywords, and categories, and build a knowledge map about CTTT. The study found that although the positive trend of published articles indicates excellent future development, the overall number of published articles is not ideal. Moreover, research on this topic has made significant progress and breakthroughs in the healthcare field, meaning that there is still much research space in the business and economic areas. Thai institutions and scientific research institutions and their scholars have significantly contributed to CTTT. They focus more on healthcare, disease, health, sexual safety, and equality in travel. Although there is an increasing focus on consumer behavior, habits, and models, However, the research on CTTT under the background of the digital economy, sharing economy, big data, artificial intelligence, and the COVID-19 pandemic is of great research value. Therefore, this study encourages different countries, institutions, and scholars to do more on this topic. Furthermore, interdisciplinary research is even more critical. © 2022.

ABSTRACT

PurposeThe main purpose of this research paper is to generate a holistic bibliometric study of the tourism industry and COVID-19 fields, to further investigate the current interests and trends emerging from scientific collaboration and thematic analysis and to identify research gaps that indicate future research directions. Design/methodology/approachThis study conducts several analyses, which include the co-authorship and social network analysis, co-citation and keyword co-occurrence knowledge structures. The authors generate a knowledge map of the leading articles and link them with previous literature to elucidate the debates and consensus in research on COVID-19 and tourism. FindingsResearch interests concentrate in the USA, China, Europe and the Oceania areas, so more cross-continental collaborations are expected among them and with other regions. Popular topics are tourism sustainable transformation, crisis management and multidisciplinary fields like tourism, hospitality, information technology and environmental sciences. This paper also identifies underexplored topics for future investigation on the social, environmental, cultural and governance dimensions of sustainable tourism. Research limitations/implicationsThis paper contributes to guiding tourism researchers in identifying and finding publication references and future collaborations. Moreover, the investigation of knowledge structures could be beneficial for scholars hoping to broaden the current understanding of this field and discover potential for future tourism research, especially in the global pandemic and other severe health crises. Originality/valueThis study enriches the existing literature in the fields of tourism and the pandemic and highlights current interests and research trends exploring scientific collaboration, thematic analysis and knowledge mapping.

ABSTRACT

[Purpose/Significance]VOSviewer is a software tool for constructing and visualizing bibliometric networks which may include citation, bibliographic coupling, co-citation, or co-authorship relations. VOSviewer Online creates the possibility to embed interactive visualizations on online platforms. The software's powerful functions in processing literature information, coupled with free and continuous improvement, are increasingly favored by experts and scholars in scientometrics and domain analysis. It provides a reference for users to use this tool for scientific research through quantitative analysis of VOSviewer's papers and the analysis of its knowledge base structure. [Method/Process] First we collected relevant documents from the Web of Science database, and then used the document co-citation network to obtain some documents and analyze the important documents in this field based on bibliometric analysis. [Results/Conclusions] It was found that the number of papers in this field has entered an explosive period of application after a relatively slow growth stage. It has been widely used by scholars in many countries and disciplines. The research topics involved the novel corona virus epidemic, sustainability, social media, sustainable development and supply chain, etc. Bibliometric theory and methods, software principles, database and network analysis have formed relatively solid research foundation in this field. There is also a great deal of misuse in the applied literature. For example, a survey of the highly productive scholars' papers found that the papers are often a direct interpretation of the results generated by the software, lacking the process of data cleaning and disambiguation, and there are a large number of errors such as duplicate authors, unprocessed singular and plural topics. VOSviewer also offers text mining functionality that can be used to construct and visualize co-occurrence networks of important terms extracted from a body of scientific literature. However, there are few applied research results in this area.VOSviewer Online has been integrated in Digital Science's Dimensions platform, making it very easy for Dimensions users to create VOSviewer visualizations of co-authorship networks and citation networks. © 2022 The authors.

ABSTRACT

For more than 20 years, disaster dynamic monitoring and early warning have achieved orderly and sustainable development in China, forming a systematic academic research system and top-down policy design, which are inseparable from the research of China's scientific community and the promotion of government departments. In the past, most of the research on dynamic disaster monitoring and early warning focused on specific research in a certain field, scene, and discipline, while a few studies focused on research review or policy analysis, and few studies combined macro and meso research reviews in academia with national policy analysis for comparative analysis. It is necessary and urgent to explore the interaction between scholars' research and policy deployment, which can bring theoretical contributions and policy references to the top-down design, implementation promotion, and academic research of China's dynamic disaster monitoring and early warning. Based on 608 international research articles on dynamic disaster monitoring and early warning published by Chinese scholars from 2000-2021 and 187 national policy documents published during this period, this paper conducts a comparative analysis between the knowledge maps of international research hotspots and the co-occurrence maps of policy keywords on dynamic disaster monitoring and early warning. The research shows that in the stage of initial development (2000-2007), international research articles are few and focused, and research hotspots are somewhat alienated from policy keywords. In the stage of rising development (2008-2015), after the Wenchuan earthquake, research hotspots are closely related to policy keywords, mainly in the fields of geology, engineering disasters, meteorological disasters, natural disasters, etc. Meanwhile, research hotspots also focus on cutting-edge technologies and theories, while national-level policy keywords focus more on overall governance and macro promotion, but the two are gradually closely integrated. In the stage of rapid development (2016-2021), with the continuous attention and policy promotion of the national government, the establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the gradual establishment and improvement of the disaster early warning and monitoring system, research hotspots and policy keywords are integrated and overlapped with each other, realizing the organic linkage and mutual promotion between academic research and political deployment. The motivation, innovation, integration, and transformation of dynamic disaster monitoring and early warning are promoted by both policy and academic research. The institutions that issue policies at the national level include the State Council and relevant departments, the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Water Resources, and other national ministries and commissions. The leading affiliated institutions of scholars' international research include China University of Mining and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan University, Shandong University of Science and Technology, and other institutions. The disciplines involved are mainly multidisciplinary geosciences, environmental sciences, electrical and electronic engineering, remote sensing, etc. It is worth noting that in the past two to three years, research and policies focusing on COVID-19, public health, epidemic prevention, environmental governance, and emergency management have gradually increased.

ABSTRACT

With the advancement of global aging, the imbalance of informatization leads to the digital divide becoming more evident among the elderly. COVID-19 forces various information services to be transferred to the Internet. The elderly cannot fully integrate into Internet life due to physical and psychological factors, thus making it difficult to enjoy the convenient and efficient services brought by the Internet, which may lead to serious social problems. In recent years, the digital divide among the elderly has been widely concerned by researchers, and the related research publications are increasing. However, there is no review literature at present. This study aims to make a comprehensive and systematic bibliometric analysis of the research topics, including a co-word knowledge map and references co-citation network to focus on the knowledge evolution trend related to research directions of the topic. This study is committed to identifying present research foci and frontier trends that are beneficial to subsequent research. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The world is currently dealing with the aftermath of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, which has resulted in momentous changes, the likes of which had not been witnessed within the previous century. These adverse events and the resulting uncertainty have posed enormous challenges to organizations, and many are on the verge of collapse. Organizations urgently need to enhance their risk management abilities and capacity to cope with crises, and organizational resilience, as such a tool, has attracted widespread attention in China and abroad. The purpose of this study is to understand the research status and development trend of organizational resilience. In this study, we applied CiteSpace to perform a visual analysis. Searching for topics related to organizational resilience, we retrieved papers published from 1990-2022 in the Web of Science Core database. Second, we constructed an author, institution, and country/region collaboration network to identify the most prolific authors, institutions and countries, respectively. The distribution of core journals determined by journal co-citations, the document co-citation network, and a clustering analysis revealed the research topics and knowledge structure, the author co-citation network revealed which authors were influential, the keyword co-citation network indicated popular research topics, and the keyword bursts highlighted the research fields. This paper analyzes the main contributions of organizational resilience research at the author, institution, and country levels;knowledge sources;interdisciplinary characteristics and research areas in organizational resilience;and direction of future research. © 2013 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge enhance job productivity by properly capturing knowledge. At the same time, a knowledge map systematically presents the captured knowledge, which increases the ease of use and utilization of information. With the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak, ICT allows individuals to connect to the outside world for reducing the effect of the pandemic. The role of ICT is more obvious in the education field. Recently, ICT competence and how to improve it, have been one of the hottest topics in research discussions. Even previous studies have shown that ICT competence is crucial in the education field, though most focuses were on teachers, yet the academic staff has been rarely getting attention. This study proposes a method of exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to confirm the influencing effects model on ICT competence, which is derived from the knowledge map. The knowledge capturing was carried out through the literature review process for the best depiction on the knowledge map. This research aims to find out the influence effects coupled with the degree of the relationship between different factors. Chiang Mai University was the selected case of a sample group, which represents robust academia in ICT readiness toward the rapid period of digital transformation. The factor model has schemed from the knowledge map and hypothesis setting. The questionnaire was conducted to survey sample views as primary data, consequently, the model was tested by PLS-SEM. The results reveal significant validation on the hypothetical model. These research findings yield worthwhile implications for universities to quickly adapt the layout of strategies, support policy, and appropriate training courses regards to the ICT competence's constitution factors. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Environmental audit is inevitably linked to climate change, one immediate target of the auditors is likely to be climate control, and the warming of the Earth and the consequent climatic changes affect us all. What is the link between environmental audit and climate change? What ties together some of these themes between environmental audit and climate change? The interaction between climate change and environmental audit has been one of the most challenging. In this paper, a scientometric analysis of 84 academic publications between 2013 and 2021 related to climate change and environmental audit is presented to characterize the knowledge domain by using the CiteSpace visualization software. First, we present the number of publications, the number of citations, research categories, and journals published through Web of Science database. Secondly, we analyze countries, authors, and journals with outstanding contributions through network analysis. Finally, we use keyword analysis and apply three types of knowledge mapping to our research, cluster view, timeline view, and time zone view, revealing the focus and future directions. We identify the most important topic in the field of climate change and environment audit as represented on the basis of existing literature data which include the Carbon Emissions, Social Capital, Energy Audit, Corporate Governance, Diffusion of Innovation Environmental Management System, and Audit Committee. The results show that climate change and environmental audit publications grew slowly, but the research are widely cited by scholars. Published journals are relatively scattered, but the cited journals are the world's top journals, and most research countries are developed countries. The most productive authors and institutions in this subject area are in UK, Australia, USA, Spain, and Netherlands. There are no leading figures, but the content of their research can be divided into six clusters. Future research content involving city, policy, dynamics, information, biodiversity, conservation and clustering social capital, diffusion of innovation environmental management, and audit committee are the directions for future research. It is worth noting that cities, policies, and adaptability are closely linked to public health.

ABSTRACT

Research, understanding, and prediction of complex systems is an important starting point for human beings to tackle major problems and emergencies such as global warming and COVID-19. Research on innovation ecosystem is an important part of research on complex systems. With the rapid development of sophisticated industries, the rise of innovative countries, and the newly developed innovation theory, innovation ecosystem has become a new explanation and new paradigm for adapting to today's global innovation cooperation network and the scientific development of complex systems, which is also in line with China's concept of building an innovative country and promoting comprehensive innovation and international cooperation with scientific and technological innovation as the core. The Innovative Research Group at Peking University is the most representative scientific and technological innovation team in the frontier field of basic research in China. The characteristics of its organization mechanism and dynamic evolution connotation are consistent with the characteristics and evolution of innovation ecosystem. An excellent innovative research group is regarded as a small innovation ecosystem. We selected the "Environmental Biogeochemistry" Innovation Research Group at Peking University as a typical case in order to understand and analyze the evolution of cooperation among scientific and technological innovation teams, improve the healthy development as well as internal and external governance of this special small innovation ecosystem, promote the expansion of an innovation team cooperation network and the improvement of cooperation quality, promote the linkage supports of funding and management departments, and improve their scientific and technological governance abilities. Through scientometrics, visual analysis of knowledge maps, and an exploratory case study, we study the evolution process and development law of team cooperation. It is found that the main node authors of the cooperation network maintain strong cooperation frequency and centrality, and gradually strengthen with the expansion of the cooperation network and the evolution of time. Driven by the internal cooperative governance of the team and the external governance of the funding and management departments, this group has gradually formed a healthy, orderly, open, and cooperative special innovation ecosystem, which is conducive to the stability and sustainable development of the national innovation ecosystem and the global innovation ecosystem.

ABSTRACT

In December 2019, an outbreak of pneumonia, which was named COVID-2019, emerged as a global health crisis. Scientists worldwide are engaged in attempts to elucidate the transmission and pathogenic mechanisms of the causative coronavirus. COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020, making it critical to track and review the state of research on COVID-19 to provide guidance for further investigations. Here, bibliometric and knowledge mapping analyses of studies on COVID-19 were performed, including more than 1,500 papers on COVID-19 available in the PubMed and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases from January 1, 2020 to March 8, 2020. In this review, we found that because of the rapid response of researchers worldwide, the number of COVID-19-related publications showed a high growth trend in the first 10 days of February; among these, the largest number of studies originated in China, the country most affected by pandemic in its early stages. Our findings revealed that the epidemic situation and data accessibility of different research teams have caused obvious difference in emphases of the publications. Besides, there was an unprecedented level of close cooperation and information sharing within the global scientific community relative to previous coronavirus research. We combed and drew the knowledge map of the SARS-CoV-2 literature, explored early status of research on etiology, pathology, epidemiology, treatment, prevention, and control, and discussed knowledge gaps that remain to be urgently addressed. Future perspectives on treatment, prevention, and control are also presented to provide fundamental references for current and future coronavirus research.

ABSTRACT

With the development and deepening of the process of global integration, global health is gaining increasing attention. An increasing number of studies have examined global health from diverse perspectives to promote the realization of global public health. The purpose of this research is to systematically and comprehensively evaluate the knowledge structure, knowledge domain, and evolution trend in the field of global health research. Based on the 14,692 document data retrieved from Web of Science Core Collection from 1996 to 2019, this article carried out a visual analysis of global health research from the perspective of scientific output characteristics, scientific research cooperation networks, keywords, and highly cited literature. The results show that scholars' interest in global health research is increasing, especially after the outbreak of SARS. USA, England, Canada, Australia, and China have the most prominent contributions to global health research. Significant authors, high impact journals and core institutions also identified. The study found that "global health governance", "global health diplomacy", "medical education", "global health education" and "antimicrobial resistance" are the research frontiers and hot spots. This study provides an overview and valuable guidance for researchers and related personnel to find the research direction and practice of global health.
